2009 QUAIL CREEK THURSDAY NIGHT MEN’S LEAGUE RULES

1.       On the first night of league the handicaps will be from the ending night of last year if you played 5 rounds. Players carrying forward a 2008 handicap will use that handicap for the 1st week only for match consideration. The score posted the first week played will then be used as his handicap for week two.

2.       If a player has not played the minimum of 5 rounds in 2008 he will be considered a “calloway” player the first time he plays in 2009.  A calloway’s handicap will be 80% of his score for his first time out.  Score posted that week will be his handicap the next round played.

3.       Handicaps shall be established after 5 weeks taking the average of the most recent 5 rounds of play.

4.       Starting week 6 all handicaps from 2008 will be invalid and those players playing for the first time will be marked as “Calloway” with that round determining their handicap for that week.

5.       The first round of blue tees will use ending handicap from white tees, thereafter the handicaps will be based on blue tee scoring only.  Same as the start of league.

6.       Players not completing “at least” 3 rounds in the 1st half of the season will be a “calloway” the first time they play the blue tees.

7.       All scores over a triple bogey will be thrown out for handicapping.  All scorers need to be aware of this rule.

8.       Use handicap holes as indicated on cards and no handicap will exceed 18

9.       All score cards must be added up by the players, net score determined, match score determined, handicap score determined, and signed by a member of each team prior to being given to league officials.  Please use first and last names of players.

10.   In each match two points will be awarded to the player winning the most holes and 1 point will be awarded to the player with the lower net score.  Both holes and low net will be determined using handicaps.

11.   Six points will be awarded to the team having the lowest team net using handicaps.  No team points will be awarded to any team that does not have 4 players

12.   All matches are to be teed off by 5:09 P.M.  Shotgun starts may be used in April & September.  If a group is running late and agreeable by both groups, tee times can be moved one spot.

13.   Try to match low handicaps against the other teams low.  If, however, two players on each team are ready to play, regardless of handicaps, please tee off-DO NOT hold up Tee Box.  If playing low on low is important, arrange your matches a week ahead as all captains have schedules.

14.   A Match is considered an official match when all teams have finished 5 holes.  If a rain out occurs before all players have finished 5 holes, all matches will be canceled. Do not leave the golf course in the event of suspended play.

15.   Handicaps will not be figured into next week if all matches are not completed.  However match scores will still be figured in shortened matches.

16.   Ball will be played down everywhere unless deemed different by course management!  A sign will be posted if winter rules apply.

17.   Lost ball will be played as stroke and distance.  i.e. if you think your ball is in the no mow, hit a provisional.  Also, if ball is lost in fairway or because of darkness, your option is to re hit from last shot or take 2 strokes and play from agreed spot by both players.

18.   Out of bounds is played from original spot plus 1 stroke penalty.  The penalty is stroke and distance.  The fence is considered out of bounds not the posts.  Course rules.  i.e. If you are close to being out hit a provisional.

19.   Identify your ball in any hazard.

20.   Rainout committee consisting of Barry Dalton, Randy Clemens, Craig Shroeder, Ted Lewis and Gary Bernabe alternating with Steve Betcher will determine playability each week.

21.   A rainout will be declared no later than 3:30 p.m.

22. Rain outs or position rounds will be played at the end of the first eleven weeks of play and again in the second round of play. 1st position round is white tees, 2nd position round is blue tees.

23. In the event of 2 rainouts in the FIRST ROUND of play, the schedule will be revised to allow teams to play each other at least once before second round play begins.  Once second round play begins the schedule will not be revised.

24. Split season payoff, white tees first half and blue tees second half.

25.   League fees are $160.00 and are due by first Thursday in June.
