The Iowa City Golf Association Scholarship Program was established in 2008 for high school student athletes who have a passion for golf. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist Johnson County students further their education. Starting last spring, high school seniors were able to submit applications for a 4-year scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded annually to one male and one female golfer who have demonstrated the ability to enjoy the game of golf and achieve a higher education degree. Each recipient will receive $4,000 ($1,000 per year) over a consecutive four-year period as long as the student is making reasonable academic progress and is enrolled in an accredited higher education institution. The inaugural ICGA Scholarships were awarded this past fall to Alex Hansche and Bailee Goodfellow. Alex is attending Iowa State University and Bailee has begun her college education at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids.
